The Exorcist is a new 2016 TV series based on the classic Exorcist movie, in this case a riveting tale about a girl possessed by an evil spirit, whose mother consults two priests in a desperate attempt to save her daughter.
With a professional all star cast and expert cinematography with subtle special effects, the Exorcist promises to be a fresh take on religious Horror with a relatively logical story line and an ending scene which ties perfectly to the scene at the start of the season.
Apart from the scary possessions infecting other people in gruesome ways, there is the story about the Pope’s visit to that community which provides a sense of urgency and biblical importance to the whole story.
There are some truly terrifying scares such as the attic scene, and the scene with the nuns doing an Exorcism with love as their only tool. Totally unique stuff.
The main theme of the entire series is faith. You know God, you know the Bible, you know Jesus, you go to church, but, the real question, which the movie put across to the test very graphically, is, do you have enough faith in God? When push comes to shove, when chaos comes, and the Devil tempts you, do you have enough faith to stay strong and weather the storm?
All Christians should see this series and think about their faith….and what they would do if the very devil comes knocking on their doorstep!
Be prepared for a truly epic horror TV series. The Exorcist does not disappoint.
