Fairy Tail has over the top action scenes combined with very goofy humor
We follow the escapades of Lucy Heartfilia, a young wizard, who joins the wizards’ guild Fairy Tail famous for its overly destructive antics. She sides with fellow guild member Natsu Dragneel a wizard with dragon-like abilities who is looking for his foster father, the dragon Igneel.
The imaginary world of Earth-land is occupied by wizards who team up to form guilds where they live as family and hone their skills so that the can perform and earn money from jobs requested by other citizens, Lucy forms a team with Natsu and his cat-like buddy Happy, later to be united by ice wizard Gray Fullbuster and armored wizard Erza Scarlet. The all go on frequent guild assignments, which comprise subduing villains, illegitimate dark guilds, and primeval demons formed by the dark wizard Zeref.
Some of Fairy Tail’s participants meet the immortal Zeref on the guild’s holy ground of Sirius Island. The attention of the wicked black dragon Acnologia is drawn, due to a skirmish concerning Fairy Tail and the dark guild Grimoire Heart over Zeref. The Fairy Tail wizards endure Acnologia’s attack when the spirit of Mavis Vermillion puts them into seven years of suspended animation with her protective enchantment. Zeref organizes a battle between Fairy Tail and Tartaros, a dark guild of demons who aim to unseal Zeref’s ultimate demon, E.N.D, which will exterminate humanity for summoning Acnologia. Acnologia returns to crush both guilds, but is stopped when Igneel surfaces to fight him, revealed to have sealed himself inside Natsu. The wizards defeat Tartaros while Igneel is slain by Acnologia, whom Natsu promises to defeat and revenge for Igneel’s demise.
Though lacking a story and having predictable features the show has been somehow intertwined into an entertaining and fist-pumping adventure that will be greatly enjoyed by all anime fans.
With pleasure I rate the series 7/10.
