What would you do for love? For a brilliant male bookstore manager who crosses paths with an aspiring female writer, this question is put to the test. A charming yet awkward crush becomes something even more sinister when the writer becomes the manager’s obsession. Using social media and the internet, he uses every tool at his disposal to become close to her, even going so far as to remove any obstacle –including people — that stands in his way of getting to her.
I had to come back for this review. I have been away for a while but i just needed to check out some new content and get back to you with only the very best.
As you probably know by now, i usually watch content only if the actor/actress impressed me in something else. New characters are too much of a change for me but i am trying to embrace change. So for this particular series,i am following my all-time favorite brood Penn Badgely who plays Joe and Shay Mitchell who plays Peach.
Did i ever tell you how much i love Psychopaths??on screen of course, not in real life.Joe is the psychopath in this series and the best part is that he is not aware of it. Psychopaths don’t usually know what they are. Another psychopath is well on the way, so i won’t be giving you any spoilers. From what has happened so far, Joe met this girl, Beck, in his bookstore as she was browsing for something to read and immediately got drawn to her. He helps her pick out a book and is even absolutely adorable till she leaves the door. He draws out what i would like to call ‘highly unlikely’ conclusions at every little thing she does but you slowly see how true these assumptions are..guess that’s part of what makes the series deliciously creepy! He does a deep dive in the internet on her and finds out a lot of information including where she lives(yes, you are reading that right..stop posting everything online!). He then takes it upon himself to find out what kind of girl she is in order to “protect himself” as he nicely puts it..He watches her while she is at home, follows her everywhere but ensures to keep a safe distance, figures out who her friends are and stalks them separately, steals her phone and looks through her texts and e-mails when she gets another (always deactivate your old phones),murders anyone who he says gets in his way..and so many other things that will constantly keep your skin crawling. The weirdest thing is how easily he compartmentalizes his ‘psychopath’ and his ‘usual’ Joe…
